While these weeks are among the most nerve-wracking period in any woman's life, doing this right can be very rewarding as well. One of the important decisions during this period deals with choosing the right wedding guitarist. Type of Guitarists


Wedding guitarists uses different types of guitars. The most common are the classical nylon-string guitar and the steel-string guitar. A nylon-string guitar produces a calm and soothing music. Sometimes classical guitars are also called Spanish guitars. Steel-string acoustic guitars, on the other hand, are known for producing music which has a more defined and sharper sound.

Price is primarily determined by the number of hours of performance, travel distance, and the popularity of the guitarist. Some guitarists would be eager to learn a new piece that is not included in his or her repertoire for free, but if you want a new arrangement, additional payment may be required.

It is wise to shop around first before deciding which guitarist to choose. If you already have a candidate guitarist in mind, you may want to ask for his or her rate first and use it as a benchmark. It is advisable to select a few of the guitarists you like and ask them for a quotation. Just provide them with your necessary wedding details to help them come up with the right quotation easily.

Repertoire


Once you have determined which guitarists are within your price range, setting an appointment with them is the next step. You do not need to meet all of them as this could take a lot of time.

A wise approach on this is to pre-rank your shortlisted candidates. Meet with the first one in your list and ask him or her to play one or two songs to be used during the event. If you think you like his or her style, you can already decide to go ahead. If not, feel free to check the second guitarist in your list and so on.

It is also a great idea to ask the selected guitarist for some suggestions. Wedding guitarists are very sensitive to individual tastes so he or she should able to able to provide you with a list of songs that you would instantly approve of. Be sure to provide the guitarist with ample of time to prepare for the event. Book at least six weeks before your wedding date, if possible.
